Halloween is just a short five months away. Frightening, we know! Your Halloween bashes are just around the corny, and it's never too early to start planning. Check out the list below to help you get started on this year's spooktacular event.
Food & Drinks
What’s a party without food? Request that guest bring a dish or cook an abundance of savory appetizers. There's no such thing as too much food. Too little can turn into a stressful situation. Be creative with your meal. Consider them as temporary decorations. Finger foods shaped like creepy fingers, eyeballs instead of gumballs, and an arrangement of traditional Halloween candies for the kiddos can do the trick.
Drink labels are the newest rave. Remove the original tags and replace with glow-in-the-dark, Halloween themed stickers for a fun touch
Lights, Camera, Action!
Set the scene for your party. Will you greet your guests with a trick or a treat when they arrive? If you're planning a dark and gory party, be courteous with your initial lighting. Use carved jack-o’-lanterns to light the way to your home or party venue. This is also a fun way to include the kids who may or may not be invited.
Use indoor and outdoor decorations to add to the party. There’s no such thing as too much when its Halloween. Fake cobwebs, candles, spiders, bones, ghosts, zombies, ax murderers. Whatever you do go all out.
Have you thought about your music selections? Will you play a classic thriller instead? If you prefer to groove, use Halloween themed playlist and throw in some sounds of winds, knives, and the occasional scream. Last year, Marie Claire released a list of 55 Halloween songs to add to your soundtrack.
Classic movies are always right. If you think the sound will distract partygoers from the fun, play the film on mute. Halloween and Friday the 13th are good movies to start with.
